Toothbrushes and Time Zones

For the most part, Abby has continued to be as cheerful and laid-back as she was as a baby.  The down side to that temperament, however, is that she takes her sweet time doing just about anything. She usually gets the task done, but we joke that she occupies her own Time Zone.

This usually only annoys Chris and me, but when it comes to bathroom use, it affects Zach and Katie a lot.  Both Zach and Katie are pretty quick in the daily ablutions department.  Abby... not so much.

The other morning, after Abby had been in the bathroom for a good 20 minutes, I joked with Zach that Abby must have fallen back to sleep in there.  He rolled his eyes and said matter-of-factly, "I know... that's why I keep my toothbrush on my desk." Perplexed, I asked for clarification. Because of the "time difference" between Abby's Time Zone and everyone else's, Zach has taken to keeping his toothbrush and toothpaste in his bedroom.  That way, if Abby beats him to the bathroom in the morning, he can still brush his teeth in the guest bath and get on with his day. Always thinking, that boy...
