Zach has his first Pinewood Derby this weekend. Zach designed the shape of the car and did all the sanding and painting (and stickering) himself. In case you can't tell, those are Ohio State colors. His car's number is 194, the same as his Troop number.
Post-Derby Update: Zach won first place within his Tiger Cub Den and placed third in the entire pack (24 kids of all ages). He was beyond proud and a very gracious winner. (It was very gratifying. Zach did everything himself, including sanding the car with good, old-fashioned sandpaper. It was very clear that many (if not most) of the other dads made their kids' cars.)
