Open Wide

"We went to the dentist today to get our eyes checked," Zach told Chris.

This was the first year that Zach could read the charts on his own, and it was the first time the doctor had him do those "which one is better" assessments.  At one point during the exam, the doctor asked Zach, "Which one is better, number one or number two?"  And Zach replied, "I'm going to have to go with number two."

Later in the same exam, Zach had to have his eyes dialated.  When the doctor put him back in the exam chair, Zach had his chin in the chin rest and his eyes up against the machine.  "Open wide," the doc requested, and Zach opened his mouth as wide as he could.
