"We went to the dentist today to get our eyes checked," Zach told Chris.
This was the first year that Zach could read the charts on his own, and it was the first time the doctor had him do those "which one is better" assessments. At one point during the exam, the doctor asked Zach, "Which one is better, number one or number two?" And Zach replied, "I'm going to have to go with number 2."
After he'd had his eyes dilated, Zach kept closing his eyes. Zach sat in the exam chair with his chin in the chin rest and his eyes up against the machine. "Open wide," the doc requested, and Zach opened his mouth as wide as he could. Even the doctor, himself a father of four, couldn't help but chuckle.
