Abby turned nine this year (here she is in ballet class this past spring) and she is proving to be another reading machine.This summer she's reading the Harry Potter books. School hasn't even been out three weeks and she's already on book five.
Abby is also doing well with her guitar lessons. When she first started, she would practice in the evenings and would be so tired, she'd get frustrated and cry. When I asked her what we should do about the situation, she suggested getting up early in the morning to practice before school.
I gave the plan three days, tops. Abby tends to be very sleepy and slow-moving in the morning but she suprised us all. She gets up every morning at 6:45 to practice for 20 minutes before school. She has done this without fail and without prodding. We are so proud of you, Abby!
