Hiking in Hocking Hills

After the chaos and upheaval of Christmas, we were longing for some real quality family time. We asked the kids what they wanted to do, and they chose the perfect activity: hiking in Hocking Hills.
The girls standing atop the intertwined roots of two trees that have wound together over a large boulder.
Zach brought a flashlight so he could inspect all the nooks and crannies in the caves.

Cassidy atop one of the larger boulders inside Ash Cave.
Zach had lots of fun and was really tired by the end of the afternoon. When we announced that we were heading home, Zach wearily led the way.
Abby is always the one who stops to smell the roses. (Or feel the moss, as the case may be. It was such a bright lime green, it almost looked neon.)
Abby and Katie exploring the base of the waterfall inside Ash Cave.
